You can show a pre-launch announcement on the product page before the release date. The cart button is hidden before the start time, then shown when selling starts.
Prerequisite: Enable the app embed in the theme.
If you have not done this yet, see Initial Setup.
This example sets a pre-launch announcement for a product that goes on sale at 00:00 on January 1, 2027. After setup, the display is as follows.

Put the launch date and the message shown before sale starts into a rule.
(1) Open selling period rules
From Shopify admin, go to Apps and open "RuffRuff Selling Periods." Select "Selling period rules" in the left menu.
(2) Open the rule editor
Select "Create rule."
(3) Enter the details
Enter the following. Do not set an end date and time.
Title: Any text
Start date and time: 2027-01-01 00:00
Product message before the selling period: This product goes on sale on January 1, 2027
Alert message before the selling period: This product is not on sale yet.
Product message during the selling period: Any text
(4) Save
Select "Save" in the upper-right corner.
Creating a rule does not apply it to the store. Enable the rule.
(1) Enable
On the rule you created, select "Enable" in the upper-right corner.
Apply the rule to the products you want to announce.
(1) Open the product list
Select "Products" in the left menu.
(2) Select products
Select the products to apply the rule to.
(3) Apply the rule
Select "Apply rule," choose the rule you created, then select "Apply."
Check: Open the product page and confirm that the message appears and the cart button is hidden before the selling period starts.
To display a countdown timer, add the app block to the product page.
